Education and Training
Dr. Gallas places a high value on patient care and safety, and his training reflects it. He completed eight years of surgical training. We encourage every patient to ask any surgeon about their training and board certification. You can confirm Dr. Gallas’s certification through the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Gallas earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan, followed by a Master of Science in applied physiology and a Doctor of Medicine from the Chicago Medical School. He completed a five-year general surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine, a two-year plastic surgery residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, and a fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Gallas is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, having first been certified in 2000, and he has maintained his certification through the Board’s Maintenance of Certification program.
While rotating in plastic surgery as a general surgery resident, Dr. Gallas assisted Dr. Frank Gerow, who co-developed the silicone breast implant, in surgery. That experience continues to shape his approach to breast surgery, including breast augmentation, breast lift (mastopexy), revision breast surgery, and breast implant removal with en bloc capsulectomy.
Professional Experience
Dr. Gallas began private practice after his fellowship in 1999 and held a part-time Clinical Specialist appointment at MD Anderson, where he saw patients and consulted, from 2001 to 2008. Reconstructive microsurgery demands precision and a deep understanding of both form and function, and that foundation shapes his approach to every cosmetic procedure he performs for his patients.
Dr. Gallas is the founder and medical director of Gallas Plastic Surgery. For over 25 years, he has been helping patients realize the highest quality of cosmetic results. Dr.Gallas offers breast, body, and facial cosmetic procedures to patients from Katy, West Houston, and communities throughout the Greater Houston area and beyond.
Certifications
Dr. Gallas received certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In addition, Dr. Gallas is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons—a title given to represent the highest level of education, training, qualifications, surgical ability, and ethical conduct.
